Why post on this blog?

These pages are intended to serve several purposes.
• Define Sane Public Policy and get a majority of US citizens to vote in their collective interests.
• To help sort out the many seemingly conflicting ideas that we are exposed to on the various media, especially internet-based social media. With help, the good Public Policies will rise to the top and the bad ones pointed out.
• To share and develop mutual understandings – even if we might disagree.
• To not having to repeat ourselves (too much).
These pages {consistently in the process of being cleaned up and reposted} started as collection of conversations I've had over the years with my family, friends and acquaintances, both written and verbal. Many of these conversations were not given a chance to reach a point of some kind of mutual understanding. Never enough time, is there?
In order to save us all time when we do get a chance to continue such conversations, collected here are summaries arranged by of topic. Agreements and disagreements are pointed out, time limiting. It is hoped that by writing where those conversations left off, in my understanding, we can better continue the conversation at some future date. Who likes to repeat themselves all the time?
A central view is that many of our disagreements stem from a failure to understand the meanings of the words used the same way. Certainly it is worth our time to be sure the source of our apparent disagreements do not stem from a simple misunderstanding of terms. {Ref to definition of Terms}
Though it may seem overwhelming in number, the set of topics under seeming dispute are relatively few. See {Topics.}
With some will help, we collectively can find a pretty good approximation to the truth and debunk obvious myth. Not just this kind of truth, but the common sense kind that is needed to keep a democratic republic society prospering.
This is dedicated to all those who also seek a prosperous, just and righteous life on this planet.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my musings.
– Rudy. J. Haluza.

Why we don’t trust Government:

Another example of why we don’t trust Government:

While we like the idea of a libertarian society, consider the view of folks such as Brian Doherty, who points out that one "has to believe" that "the instincts and abilities for liberty . . . are innate," that we possess "an ability to fend for ourselves in the Randian sense and to form spontaneous orders of fellowship and cooperation in the Hayekian sense." But this view of the relationship between the individual and society is profoundly and demonstrably false, especially when applied to the family.

The lesser of two evils?

Sometimes one has to make a difficult choice: Commies or Nazis?
Not either if we can...
Stalin was used to defeat Hitler.
Let's not support ANY form of totalitarian government, foreign or domestic.

Thank the Heavens that Obama/Biden have been partly taken out of power.

  • Work and pray this never happens again.

Neo-Brandeisianism

Neo-Brandeisianism.
Hipster Brandeis is the term coined by Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers for the Neo-Brandeisian (named after former Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis) approach to antitrust enforcement. Hipster Neo-Brandeisianists, like Brandeis himself, favor an aggressive use of antitrust to punish businesses for the crime of growing too big by efficiently satisfying consumers.

The 2024 U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai is a Neo-Brandeisianist.
